Lady`s Choice...its an oxymoron, I know, especially in the old west, and maybe even more so in Hollywood. After David Harvey`s (William Holden) wife dies, he must find a new wife to raise his son, Davey, the proper way, as his mother had intended before she passed. David travels to town and purchases a bonded servant, Mary (Loretta Young), and makes her his bride. David has little interest in his new wife until his friend, Jim (Robert Mitchum) becomes taken by her and begins courting her. The dynamics of the love triangle are great, as is the acting. Definitely recommended for fans of the western drama, and even bet it would pass for a date movie. Having said that, that`s probably why I don`t have a girlfriend.
