Heartwarming coming of age comedyThis movie is PG-13 so it is definitely not for any girl under the age of 13 in fact it is my opinion that it should be viewed by girls 15 or older. Having said that this movie is a good coming of age movie about 4 girls living in "the gas light edition" a new sub-division in the 1970`s, who make a promise to return anytime they need each other. The story starts off 20 years later when the 4 friends get together for the birth of a baby, then it flashes back 20 years to when the girls were young and full of curiosity. The story follows the girls through a summer that changed their lives forever. The casting department did an excellent job casting both the young girls and the older versions of the characters, and look for a cameo appearance by Brendan Fraser.
