An Absolute ClassicThe story follows two young New York thugs, one of whom get caught and sent to reform school, while the other one, played perfectly by Pat O`Brien, gets away and ends up becoming a priest. When they meet up as adults it`s up to the priest to make Rocky see that the bad influence he has on the neighborhood gang. It`s a classic tale of two friends, because of uncontrollable circumstances, end up following different paths in life. In the end it`s up to Rocky to decide whether he wants the neighborhood kids following in his footsteps or do the right thing and make the kids think he is a coward as he walks his last steps to the gas chamber. Cagneys` performance is incredible to say the least and ranks among the best gangster roles ever put on screen.
