Excellent Series
Even though they released this as set 5 instead of set 1, this is the pilot episode followed by Written
in Blood, Death of a Hollow Man, Faithful unto Death and Death in Disguise. Having said that, this is one of my all time favorite shows. John Nettles is excellent as the middle-aged DCI Tom Barnaby and Daniel Casey is equally excellent as his young sometimes naive yet well meaning partner Sgt. Gavin Troy. The mysteries are often unpredictable and funny (for example: Barnaby getting high on cookies laced with pot, which I think was in one of the episodes in set 2 or 3). With the lush and beautiful English countryside as a backdrop and interesting and eccentric townspeople you are sure to love this series.
