Amazing!
If you have a naughty scene of humor, this movie is perfect for you. Makes you blush, laugh and feel all lovey-dovey. It`s cute, it`s sexy, and fun. Gerard Butler makes a nasty, yet alluring character that makes you love and hate him at the same time. You want to slap him and hug at the same time.
I don`t recommend it as a family movie night if parents can`t handle the sexual innuendo like in American Pie.

Disappointing Battle of the Sexes
In the Ugly Truth the typical battle of the sexes is played out whereby women love with their hearts and men love with their trouser snakes.

While watching this movie, I kept asking myself "Why?" Why make this formulaic disappointment? Why portray women as highly emotional control freaks and men as disrespectful sex monkeys?

Katherine Heigl does the best she can with the role and Gerard Butler phones in his performance sans his Scottish accent. I really liked his performance in Dear Frankie (which I do recommend), and I now wonder if that had something to do with his low spoken line count in that film.

As the saying goes, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" and the only risk this movie takes is to offend its audience with banal male/female antics.
