Making Contact
George Clooney often plays characters who all appear very similar. In this way, he reminds me of Cary Grant or Humphrey Bogart. This typical type of character involves being smart, cool under pressure, and a leader.

You can see all of these traits in Ryan Bingham, however there is also a vulnerability to him executed superbly by Clooney. I think Clooney kind of "grew up" in this film.
