Movie Description:
In the summer of 1981, a 9-year old girl is left behind in her aunt`s care while the rest of her family goes to Africa as aid workers. The aunt is sooncourted by a man and leaves thegirl with the promise to return in a few days. The abandoned girl keeps this a secret from everyone and uses herfreedom to discover the world around heras the summer passes by. With sharpeningsenses she gradually discovers the oftenabsurd and careless world of adults.

Subtle and sincere
Director Fredrik Edfeldt does an outstanding job with Bianca Engstroms natural talent. She has the subtlety and seriousness of an adult, with seemingly no one around who can understand her. This was a beautiful movie about independence and self reliance. Instead of a teen coming of age story, this story is about a little girl, realizing how much she can do without adults in her life.
