As World War II ends, thousands of British soldiers get "demobbed"- demobilized andsent back into civilian life. Among them are Captain Ian Deaseyand Lance Corporal Dick Dobson. Deasey and Dobson have had a "good war", much of it spent entertaining the troops withtheir bawdy stage routines. But afterserving four years in the NorthAfrican desert, they find it hard to adjust to peacetime London and long for the stage lights once more. Soon they`reperforming a cabaret act at theBlue Parrot nightclub, but their personal lives may get in the way of their professional ambitions.
