The Angel Doll is a Christmasstory told through the eyes of two young boys living in a North Carolina manufacturingtown during the 1950s. Jerry is a quiet10-year-old who enjoys all the advantages of a middle-class lifestyle, while his friend whitey lives in povertywith his mother and ailing four year oldsester Sandy. Whitey is devoted tohis sister and her fondness for angels, making sure to regularly read to her from her favoritebook, The Littlest Angel. But as Whitey saves up money from hisdaily newspaperroute to buy Sandy a real angel doll for Christmas, he disco-vers there are no such dolls for sale intheir small town. Armed with equal amounts of will power and single minded determination,Jerry and Whitey set out on a journey tofind the perfect Christmas gift for San-dy. Along the way, they overcome fear, prejudice and theft as they learn thetrue meaning of the holiday spirt.
