Beethoven-The Vibration KingWhat a touching story this is. It is refreshing to see a woman as the best student in music composition. Anna is a young talented woman who works copying music for a misunderstood genius composer who is going deaf. Amidst the tragedy of Beethoven’s deafness, Anna is able to understand his music and make it available for others to hear by being his musical ears. The Romantic time period is well represented in set, style, and costumes; I wept in the beginning and had chills at the end. Excellent recordings of Beethoven’s music. The music synchronizes quite artistically with the screenplay to create a strong sense of atmosphere. Some of it subtle and at other times quite obvious.
I had no clue that I was watching Ed Harris as Beethoven. Through the film I was comparing his performance in this film to some of the amazing scenes that he did in “The Hours“ . This made a lot a sense a few days later when I realized it was the same actor rockin in both films.
