Movie Description:
Known as Falasha or "stranger," Ethiopian Hews lived inisolation for centuries, practicing an ancient, Pre-Talmudic form of Judaism, whichaccording to traditions, tracesits origins back to Solomonand Sheba. In the seventeenthcentury, this prosperousciviliation was overpowered byneighboring tribes. Years of persecutionand discrimination followed. The 1980s saw conditions worsen, as famine and a new wave of violence threatened theremaining Falasha. Operation Mosed was organized in response, transporting thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel bymeans of secret airlifts from Sudan.
