Movie Description:
Clair has managed quite wellsince moving off her parents`farm and into a quaint studio in Angouleme. Her super- market cashier`s job pays the bills, butmore importantly, it promises Clair enough spare time to design the intri- cately beautiful embroideries that are her passion. But all this is jeopard-ized when Clair learns that sheis pregnant, at the tenderage of 17. Deciding to give birth anonymously, she finds refuge with Madame Melikian,an embroiderer for haute couture design-ers. Madame Melikian has buries herselfin work following the death of her be- loved son. Day by day, stitch by stitch,as Clair`s belly grows rounder,the threads of embroidery create a filial bond between them. In time, the grief- stricken mento and her anxious apprent-ice will stop protecting themselves and start helping one another.
