The Poor Young Widow of Peckham: Having pawned most of his possessions tobuy a camera, Thomas is now trying to earn a living as a photographer. He enters a "DailyMail" competition to submit a picture of "My MostUnforgettable Face." His subject is Sarah, dressed up as a poor, woebegone window in the pouring rain. Thanks to this moving photo, they both become"celebrities."
