Mike Ruppert is the Publisher/Editoror From the Wilderness (FTW), a news- letter he founded in March 1996 by mailingout 68 copies to friends andresearchers. FTW is now read bymore than 20,000 subscribersin 40 countries,including 35 members of the US Congress,the intelligence commitees of bothhouses, and professors at 30 universi- ties around the world. Through the newsletter and his website at www.formthewilderness.com, Mike haspioneered innovative analysis and groundbreaking original stories on the impact of $5-600 billion per year in drug money moving through the US economy andthe illegal covert operations which maintain control of that cash flow for US economic interests. As Honors graduate of UCLA inPolitcal Science, Mike is a former LAPD narcotics investigator who discovered CIA traffickingin drugs in 1977. After attempting to explose this he was forcedout of LAPD in 1978 while earning the highest rating reports possible and having no disciplary actions. In 1996, after 18 years of struggle, he finallyachieved one of his deepest wishes in a face to face public encounter with the CIA Director, John Deutch, on national televsion. Washington sources later toldMike that Deutch`s mishandling of the encounter cost him a guaranteed appointment as Secretary of Defense. In the wake of the September 11thattacks, Mike was among the first to be publicaly critical of anumber of transparent flaws in the official story presented by the US govornemnt. In morethan 80 stories since 9-11, he has followed his tested strategy of using only governmentdocuments, official statements or verifiable press reportsas the basis for his work. As aresult, he has been openly recieved by several members of Congress and maintains open lines of communications with conression-al and and committee staff. Since 9-11-2001, hehas been the point man in breaking major stories involving government foreknowledge,corruption and violations of the Constitution. He has also pioneered the effort to educate the world about the consequences of Peak Oil - the fact thatthe world is running out of hydrocarbon energy, and what this might mean for human civilization.
