It was ok To be honest, Betty White made the cast stand out in so many ways with her quick quips and comments. The drama was a bit over played...ok we get it, she was mean to you back in high school, but we all went through that in one way or another, we all had friends sometimes act like children and be a bit mean to you. I really felt the ending was powerful but the mid point in the movie ran a bit dry.
I feel that if the movie would have showed a bit more of Joanna`s struggle to distance herself from high school the movie would have been better.
all and all if you are looking for a girl night this is a good pick
I recommend this movie
Can I use this as a study guide? Ok lets face facts women back in the day had the right idea, hook a rich fella and live like queens, but what happens when you find yourself falling for a Tom, Dick or Harry you get Jack....and Jack is lazy out of work or as Page would say another gas jockey she has dated. Page played by Lauren Bacall. Page had been scorn by men one too many times and cooked up a scheme to get her a man who would treat her right~!
I have to say I enjoyed all the little quirks of this movie from the renting an apartment for man hunting, to looking in only "good" parts of town for men. I loved Marilyn`s character Pola who was blind as a bat, but still tried to work a room with ought her glasses. I loved the quirky little saying she had to convince herself she needed to steer clear of glasses. "men aren`t attentive to girls who ware glasses" It was super cute and super Marilyn.
Finally who could forget Loco played by the quiet shinning star (also the biggest paid actor of her time In 1947 she was paid 300,000 a year!) Betty Grable. I loved her quirky nature in this movie that stole the spotlight with the married man who was trying to get her on the side, I also love the fact she ran off with the forest ranger (real man) in the end.
Also to put a final note to this review if you plan on surprising your wife that you secretly are a millionaire please PLEASE remember to put pillows on the floor!
I of course Recommend this movie
Oh Dudley Only an actor of Brendan Frasers comedic acting style could pull of such a movie. Two of my favorite actors are in this movie Fraser, and Sarah Jessica Parker. I enjoyed the adaptation from the cartoon and thought it was perfectly done from the narrating voice to the goofs Dudley does. I also enjoy the fact Dudley was made to be the bad guy for part of the movie. Yes Dudley was "studly" through his actions to save the town and win the heart of the cute and perky Nell. I enjoy the romantic goofiness of this movie.
I recommend this movie
