Worth the wait. I`ve known about this movie since it was in pre-production which was about 2 years ago. I`ve been so excited because the film makers commented that they were going to try and keep the original artist`s, a man named Frank Frazetta, vision of the Conan universe. This movie was truly beautiful in all it`s brutality and landscapes. Amazing fighting sequences, fantasy elements, and costuming add a bit more to this film. The only thing that deserves some criticism is the somewhat typical plot, although it was appropriate for it`s genre and style. Jason Momoa did such a great job in this role, exponentially better than Arnold could ever do. The directer kept his word about staying true to Frazetta and for the most part this movie was a visual feast.
Praise from my corner for Conan. So. Good.
Goodbye Harry my old friend. This movie is spectacular as such are it`s predecessors. I have a special relationship with all of these characters, I`ve grown up with them, believed that when I turned twelve that I myself would receive my owl in the mail. To see the last film finally come to fruition is beautiful and deeply saddening for me. They did a great job as usually keeping to the story and the acting was perfect.
I guess I`ll just have to settle for re-reading the books and re-watching this brilliant series of films to keep myself from feeling ultimate despair that it`s over. So long Harry
Surprising. This movie exceeded my expectations in every way. I was cheering by the end of it. The special effects and intricate sets are amazing. Very anime inspired, the specific angles used and camera movement add a whole other layer to this film. The only thing I can really criticize is the dialogue and narrartion. It`s very generic, but looking back I`m wondering if they might have done that on purpose to contrast the pure originality of the fighting sequences and general feel of this movie. Thumbs up!!
