Beethoven-The Vibration King What a touching story this is. It is refreshing to see a woman as the best student in music composition. Anna is a young talented woman who works copying music for a misunderstood genius composer who is going deaf. Amidst the tragedy of Beethoven’s deafness, Anna is able to understand his music and make it available for others to hear by being his musical ears. The Romantic time period is well represented in set, style, and costumes; I wept in the beginning and had chills at the end. Excellent recordings of Beethoven’s music. The music synchronizes quite artistically with the screenplay to create a strong sense of atmosphere. Some of it subtle and at other times quite obvious.
I had no clue that I was watching Ed Harris as Beethoven. Through the film I was comparing his performance in this film to some of the amazing scenes that he did in “The Hours“ . This made a lot a sense a few days later when I realized it was the same actor rockin in both films.
Hmmm.. Well this was one I felt the need to see as a PEZ collector. The disc contains 2 cartoon PEZ episodes, 2 music videos, and a mini documentary of PEZ collectors. I watched the documentary part first and I liked seeing some other collectors of the weird candy dispensers called PEZ. Then, I watched on of “The Juliet Dagger’s” PEZ music videos and it was terrible. The lead chick and the bass player seemed to have never played instruments prior to filming. The other song was just as terrible if not worse. My best friend barely made it through one song, but I’m glad she did. I was the first person to rent this from DJ’s and I just might be the only to witness this odd disc? And about the 2 cartoon episodes??? Well let me tell you I was offended that they didn’t give credit to Pixar for using story material from Toy Story and Toy Story 2. I don’t know who decided to do such a video as this, but if Pez were my company I would not approve my company to produce this. It’s not good for advertising-HA!
I did a lil` research and it turns out there IS a PEZ documentary which is where the footage on the film comes from. It would be nice if they told that to the viewers.
I recommend getting the documentary, not this disc for PEZ lovers..unless you want to see how terrible it was.
Excellent Film.. This film was extraordinary. The atmosphere of the acting drew me in and kept me there. Intense. One can see the value of human life through the safe net of a film. Realistic. Amazingly poetic sense through the use of camera angles and depth of field. Yes, I have weakness for this..
